Minion Friday!

Jack and the bean stalk

We had a great time at Jack the bean stalk.  It was very funny and we loved the singing and dancing.

What makes a positive leader?

Today we discussed what makes a good leader.  Today Connie wrote a great piece of writing about being a good leader.  Well done Connie, fantastic effort.

Double number practise

Get into groups of three.  One person is the caller and says the maths problems.  The other two try and beat the other by saying the answer the quickest.  Lots of fun.  You can play this at home.

Jack Flash and the Jumping Beanstalk On the afternoon of Tuesday, 18 August, after cross country, Our school has been booked in to see the New Zealand Playhouse production of Jack Flash and the Jumping Beanstalk. This is an excellent show and we have been lucky enough to be entertained by Playhouse in the past. It also provides a really engaging learning opportunity for our children so attendance is critical. We do not want any students to miss out on a shared learning experience with their classmates. To pay for this show, please send $4.50 to your child's teacher as soon as possible in a sealed envelope with the student's name and room number.

We are excited to share our Art with the school and community tomorrow.

New Maths Rocket

I am so proud of everyone in the class for all the extra learning they have been putting in tp prepare for our assessment last week.  We now are focusing on our next steps.  Please find time to go over them at home.

• Double 1 +1, 2+2, 3+3 etc
• Numbers before and after up to 1000.
• Skip counting in  in 2's, 5's and 10's up to 100.
• Fractions halves, quarters, thirds and fifths.
• Subtration 10-7, 18-3 etc.

St John's came to our school today

 We learnt all about what we need to do when there is an emergency.    We practised using the phone to call 111 and thinking and asking for what service we need.
